What's to Eat? Food Allergy Cookbook

What People are Saying about "What's to Eat?"-..........---

Cooking allergy free has actually become enjoyable for me as so many of the recipes from this book seem to have become classics in our house. Everyone loves them, and it makes me feel good to be able to provide my child with foods from this book that bring us all a sense of normalcy.
J. Nyiri, Ohio

Thank you so much for creating such wonderful, healthy and DELICIOUS recipes. They are all simple to prepare, with easy to find ingredients. Your cookbook has made my life of managing a life-threatening food allergy so much easier. Thank you for providing us with some variety at the dinner table!
E. Sperling, Mission Viejo, California

It was a relief to find your book and find answers to the question of what to cook for three meals a day and snacks. I have tried many recipes for our family. We especially like the Seasoned Baked Chicken, Easy Winter Potatoes, and Herbed Oven Roasted Potatoes. I also appreciate that your recipes are made of "real food."
N. Dilley, Minneota, Minnesota

I'm really excited that your recipes don't use any strange ingredients like some of the other cookbooks I've bought – it's all things I have on hand.
L. Newman, Clarksville, Maryland

This cookbook has changed my life! I never want my son to feel different and left out, and now he does not have to. The recipes are good enough for people who do not have food allergies – no one can tell the food is egg-, dairy-, and nut-free unless I tell them.
M. Pelletier, Lancaster, Massachusetts

My husband, who does not have any food allergies, prefers your recipes to the "regular" ones and recently said, "Why would anyone eat anything else but these!"
– S. Waynick, St. Charles, Illinois

This book has changed our lives and become our 'cookbook bible'! We use your recipes almost daily. I've even purchased copies for friends, so they can have a fun recipe to try when we come over for dinner.
– J. Smith, Picton, Australia

I never knew my food-allergic son could eat such a variety of food. I have looked at other "allergy" cookbooks, and none compare. These recipes are so delicious and easy!
L. Schoneck, Orlando, Florida

Simple recipes...fantastic results. And the S'Mores Bars are the single best baked good I have ever made.
– H. Pasternak, Lexington, Massachusetts

Thank you for a great cookbook. You've changed the quality of life for our family.
L. Lindgren, Minneapolis, Minnesota

My 2-1/2 year old daughter has multiple food allergies and your recipes have allowed her to enjoy so many foods that I was afraid she would never be able to have. A few of our favorites are the Oatmeal Cookies, the Potato Latkes and the Turkey Meatballs.
– D. Mello, Pleasanton, California

I love your cookbook! It has a lot of recipes that have become weekly staples in our house. We all love the desserts and the pancakes! It is one of the only cookbooks I have found that has very easy, normal ingredients to use and the recipes are very good.
D. Price, Chicago, Illinois

Anyway just wanted to thank you for such a comprehensive book - well done. You have certainly made my life easier, especially when it comes to parties and entertaining.
J. Roche, Sydney, Australia

I use your cookbook on a weekly basis!
– W. Saltz, Scottsdale, Arizona

Not only are the recipes FANTASTIC (especially the chocolate chip cookies), but I feel like I have a "support network" each time I pull out and use this cookbook.
– J. Patturelli, Haverhill, Massachusetts

I can honestly say that our whole family has enjoyed every recipe I have tried thus far. The doctor is fairly sure my son will outgrow the milk and egg allergies, but I will continue using this cookbook because the food is really good.
J. LaSpina, Collegeville, Pennsylvania

Your book changed the way I felt about the news of my son's allergies. It gave me great and tasty options, and, most importantly, hope for my son's future. It made me realize that he is going to be able to be a normal kid.
A. Peterson, Northbrook, Illinois

I love how simple and super-yummy the recipes are. It's such a relief to know I'm feeding my son things that are safe and healthy.
– R. Jensen, Kaysville, Utah

I was ecstatic to be able to give my son a real birthday cake, one like he always asked me for – not a "kind of a cake, because poor Miguel has allergies," or a flat almost inedible "thing." I had tears in my eyes when I had it all decorated and everybody was oohing and aahing over it, and my son was squealing with delight. Thank you!
P. Navid, Barcelona, Spain

Your cookbook has been amazing, and I even get asked by non-allergy people for the recipes. We especially love "Jason's Chocolate Cookies" and the "Orange Teriyaki Marinated Flank Steak." I hope you are working on a second book!
M. Carley, Flower Mound, Texas

I am so excited to finally have a food allergy cookbook with recipes that actually turn out to be edible and delicious!
J. Tygard, Sparks, Nevada

I love your book! You have great recipes for allergic kids.
– R. Cati, Boston, Massachusetts

I had Easter dinner at my home this year for my entire family, and everything was from your book. All of my guests loved the food! The best part was seeing my little boy with cake and frosting all over his face. I never thought I would be able to make the good desserts everyone else enjoys, but truly your recipes have been a blessing.
D. Trentwood, Knoxville, Tennessee

Your book is by far the BEST cookbook out there. I like it because you are one of the few authors that put together recipes with things you can purchase at the "normal" grocery store. The meals are great.
A. Hofmann, Severna Park, Maryland

I have an 18-month old daughter whom I am still breastfeeding, so we both need to be on the same diet. The cake and cookie recipes have really come in handy – everyone who comes to visit likes the baking.

My allergenic 18-month old loves your pancake recipes. He now goes right up to the freezer, pulls out his bag of frozen pancakes and hands it to me whenever he wants a snack!
D. Fetterman, Martinez, California

Baking with my son was something I figured I wouldn't do much of until I bought your book. Now he can have virtually the same treats as all his other friends at preschool. Plus, the Lake Forest Sweet & Savory Chicken and Maple Glazed Vegetables are two of my all-time favorite recipes!
– J. Yingling, Sacramento, California

My husband and son are both unable to eat milk and egg, so cooking is a real challenge. They especially like your bread, cake and cookie recipes. The pancakes and waffles were also a real hit!
S. Henery, Columbus, Ohio

We love your oatmeal cookie recipe, just tried the gingerbread cookies and loved them too! I don't own any other cookbook that I have consistently liked all of the recipes I've tried inside.
J. Jablon, West Norriton, Pennsylvania

The chocolate chip cookies are a staple in our home, and the egg-free latkes have been declared by everyone in my family as "even better than grandma's!" I don't know what I'd have done without your cookbook. I had a dangerously underweight child, who is now in the 16th percentile thanks to your recipes.
J. Rosman, Cleveland, Ohio

I made your Frosted Maple Drops and everyone including my daughter loves them. I also made your pancakes for breakfast and they were the best.

– L. Thompson, Brooklyn, New York

Your cookbook, as the teenagers say, RULES! The recipes are, as promised, tasty, delicious, and dairy/egg/nut free. Everyone at our neighborhood block party raved about the raisin bars, and the dilled cucumber and bay shrimp salad was even a hit with my 2-1/2 year old son! Thanks again for a wonderful guide to good food in the world of food allergies.
D. Rossetti, Maple Valley, Washington

My 16 year old son was recently diagnosed with dairy allergy. This cookbook sure makes things a lot easier. You have so many great recipes!
D. Hammond, Windsor Locks, Connecticut

We love your cookbook! People love all the things we've made from it (especially the desserts)! We've recommended your book to friends without any food allergies and they've bought it, since it's also great if you are kosher and looking for nondairy side dishes and desserts.
M. Smith Katz, Hamden, Connecticut

I have tried many of your recipes and they all taste yummy. My son can't stop eating what I make from your book!

The more I use your cookbook, the more impressed I am. We use it all the time. I especially find useful the recipe suggestions for a complete meal, as well as the recipe review before each recipe.

My son is now 3 years old and has had food allergies since he was born. I have found it so difficult to make him foods....but now I found this book and it is awesome!
K. Richards, Boca Raton, Florida

The chocolate cupcakes were as good as – or better than – any other 'normal’ chocolate cupcakes I've ever had! I made a batch for my son's preschool class, and his teacher asked for some of the other recipes from the book, so they can make 'safe’ things for their cooking projects.
S. Go, Mountain View, California

This cookbook rocks! It is the most incredible tool for people who have to work with food allergies – very impressive.
J. Beauregard, Portsmouth, New Hampshire

I have made the chocolate chip cookies and the S'more bars, and the whole family likes them. I tried the chocolate layer cake for a party –- we entertained 100 people, so I made several cakes – and they were a HUGE hit. Thank you so much for the time you invested in this project.
A. Blackdeer, Madison, Wisconsin

As a mom of a six-year-old daughter with severe food allergies, one of my biggest challenges is providing some variety for meals. Before Linda’s book it seemed our daughter had the same meal every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Now we have choices which the entire family can enjoy.
L. Markle, MD, Laguna Niguel, California

Reviews:

I would expect a milk-free, egg-free, nut-free cookbook to be full of complicated recipes, hard-to-find ingredients, and extensive instructions. Yet what I found with Linda Coss' 'What's to Eat?' was exactly the opposite. Moms of food allergic children will consider 'What's to Eat?' a savior, though the rest of us should not be left out. This is truly on of the best recipe collections I have come across in years, allergen-free or not.
