Cooking allergy free has actually become enjoyable for me as so many of
the recipes from this book seem to have become classics in our house. Everyone
loves them, and it makes me feel good to be able to provide my child with
foods from this book that bring us all a sense of normalcy.– J. Nyiri, Ohio
It was a relief to find your book and find answers to the question
of what to cook for three meals a day and snacks. I have tried many recipes
for our family. We especially like the Seasoned Baked Chicken, Easy Winter
Potatoes, and Herbed Oven Roasted Potatoes. I also appreciate that your
recipes are made of "real food." Simple recipes...fantastic results. And the S'Mores Bars are the
single best baked good I have ever made.
Your book has brought a love of food to my son. My husband, who does not have any food allergies, prefers your recipes
to the ‘regular’ ones and recently said, 'Why would anyone
eat anything else but these!' Ben, 6 years old, helped me make your chocolate chocolate chip cookies.
Absolutely delicious, even for those without food allergies! Ben didn't
want to take the last one to school today for a snack because he wanted
to 'save it for Christmas' (which is over 2 months away)! Return to Top.......... This book has changed our lives and become our 'cookbook bible'!
We use your recipes almost daily. I've even purchased copies for friends,
so they can have a fun recipe to try when we come over for dinner. I never knew my food-allergic son could eat such a variety of food.
I have looked at other "allergy" cookbooks, and none compare.
These recipes are so delicious and easy! Thank you for a great cookbook. You've changed the quality of life
for our family. My 2-1/2 year old daughter has multiple food allergies and your recipes
have allowed her to enjoy so many foods that I was afraid she would never
be able to have. A few of our favorites are the Oatmeal Cookies, the Potato
Latkes and the Turkey Meatballs. This book is so USED at our house that big chunks are coming out
of the binding! This cookbook has changed my life! I never want my son to feel different
and left out, and now he does not have to. The recipes are good enough
for people who do not have food allergies –
no one can tell the food is egg-, dairy-, and nut-free unless I tell them. I love your cookbook! It has a lot of recipes that have become weekly
staples in our house. We all love the desserts and the pancakes! It is
one of the only cookbooks I have found that has very easy, normal ingredients
to use and the recipes are very good. Anyway just wanted to thank you for such a comprehensive book –
well done. You have certainly made my life easier, especially when it
comes to parties and entertaining. I use your cookbook on a weekly basis! Not only are the recipes FANTASTIC (especially the chocolate chip
cookies), but I feel like I have a "support network" each time
I pull out and use this cookbook. Return to Top.......... I can honestly say that our whole family has enjoyed every recipe
I have tried thus far. The doctor is fairly sure my son will outgrow the
milk and egg allergies, but I will continue using this cookbook because
the food is really good. Your book changed the way I felt about the news of my son's allergies.
It gave me great and tasty options, and, most importantly, hope for my
son's future. It made me realize that he is going to be able to be a normal
kid. I love how simple and super-yummy the recipes are. It's such a relief
to know I'm feeding my son things that are safe and healthy. I was ecstatic to be able to give my son a real birthday cake, one
like he always asked me for – not a "kind of a cake, because
poor Miguel has allergies," or a flat almost inedible "thing."
I had tears in my eyes when I had it all decorated and everybody was oohing
and aahing over it, and my son was squealing with delight. Thank you!
Your cookbook has been amazing, and I even get asked by non-allergy
people for the recipes. We especially love "Jason's Chocolate Cookies"
and the "Orange Teriyaki Marinated Flank Steak." I hope you
are working on a second book!
I had Easter dinner at my home this year for my entire family, and
everything was from your book. All of my guests loved the food! The best
part was seeing my little boy with cake and frosting all over his face.
I never thought I would be able to make the good desserts everyone else
enjoys, but truly your recipes have been a blessing. Return to Top.......... Your book is by far the BEST cookbook out there. I like it because
you are one of the few authors that put together recipes with things you
can purchase at the "normal" grocery store. The meals are great. I have an 18-month old daughter whom I am still breastfeeding, so
we both need to be on the same diet. The cake and cookie recipes have
really come in handy –
everyone who comes to visit likes the baking. Thank you for providing some much-needed variety. It's really nice
to have new foods periodically, and even more wonderful when the whole
family can enjoy them! With your cookbook I am able to make delicious food we can all enjoy. My allergenic 18-month old loves your pancake recipes. He now goes
right up to the freezer, pulls out his bag of frozen pancakes and hands
it to me whenever he wants a snack! Baking with my son was something I figured I wouldn't do much of
until I bought your book. Now he can have virtually the same treats as
all his other friends at preschool. Plus, the Lake Forest Sweet &
Savory Chicken and Maple Glazed Vegetables are two of my all-time favorite
recipes! My husband and son are both unable to eat milk and egg, so cooking
is a real challenge. They especially like your bread, cake and cookie
recipes. The pancakes and waffles were also a real hit!
My daughter loves your recipes so much that yours is the only cookbook
we are using. Our 2-1/2 year old failure to thrive Reflux kid with severe
allergies is actually starting to gain weight using your recipes. Thank
you! My husband is a Certified Executive Chef, and he also enjoys the
dishes that I make from your book! Return to Top.......... My mouth was literally watering while reading the recipes! The chocolate chip cookies are a staple in our home, and the egg-free
latkes have been declared by everyone in my family as "even better
than grandma's!" I don't know what I'd have done without your cookbook.
I had a dangerously underweight child, who is now in the 16th percentile
thanks to your recipes. I made your Frosted Maple Drops and everyone including my daughter
loves them. I also made your pancakes for breakfast and they were the
best. My 7-year-old food-allergic son has always wanted to have waffles,
just like his 12-year-old sister. Thanks to your book he got to eat waffles
for the first time, and he loved them! Your cookbook, as the teenagers say, RULES! The recipes are, as promised,
tasty, delicious, and dairy/egg/nut free. Everyone at our neighborhood
block party raved about the raisin bars, and the dilled cucumber and bay
shrimp salad was even a hit with my 2-1/2 year old son! Thanks again for
a wonderful guide to good food in the world of food allergies. My 16 year old son was recently diagnosed with dairy allergy. This
cookbook sure makes things a lot easier. You have so many great recipes!
We love your cookbook! People love all the things we've made from
it (especially the desserts)! We've recommended your book to friends without
any food allergies and they've bought it, since it's also great if you
are kosher and looking for nondairy side dishes and desserts. I have tried many of your recipes and they all taste yummy. My son
can't stop eating what I make from your book!
The more I use your cookbook, the more impressed I am. We use it
all the time. I especially find useful the recipe suggestions for a complete
meal, as well as the recipe review before each recipe. My two-year-old food allergic son had never had cake or cupcakes
before we tried your Chocolate Layer Cake with Chocolate Frosting. Wow!
You should have seen the look on his face licking the beaters! Return to Top.......... My son and I love the Sweet and Sour Turkey Loaf. It's nice to find
a food allergy cookbook with main dish, as well as dessert/breakfast recipes.
Your book has made our lives so much easier. We love your cookbook and think it's a lifesaver (literally). I am
a pediatrician and also recommend the book to my patients. My son is now 3 years old and has had food allergies since he was
born. I have found it so difficult to make him foods....but now I found
this book and it is awesome! This cookbook rocks! It is the most incredible tool for people who
have to work with food allergies –
very impressive. I have made the chocolate chip cookies and the S'more bars, and the
whole family likes them. I tried the chocolate layer cake for a party
– we entertained 100
people, so I made several cakes –
and they were a HUGE hit. Thank you so much for the time you invested
in this project. As a mom of a six-year-old daughter with severe food allergies, one
of my biggest challenges is providing some variety for meals. Before Linda's
book it seemed our daughter had the same meal every breakfast, lunch,
and dinner. Now we have choices which the entire family can enjoy. Return to Top..........
I would expect a milk-free, egg-free, nut-free cookbook
to be full of complicated recipes, hard-to-find ingredients, and extensive
instructions. Yet what I found with Linda Coss' 'What's to Eat?' was exactly
the opposite. Moms of food allergic children will consider 'What's to
Eat?' a savior, though the rest of us should not be left out. This is
truly on of the best recipe collections I have come across in years, allergen-free
or not. Allergy-free cooking never tasted this good! A beautifully done cookbook with tasty recipes –
a valuable resource for anyone with food allergies. "What's to Eat?" is a superbly organized food allergy oriented
cookbook which offers an enthusiastically recommended, "kitchen cook
friendly," culinary cornucopia of fine eating and elegant dining. The feedback we have received from our members to this cookbook has
been extremely positive. The recipes are easy to make, the menu ideas
make planning meals easier for busy families and the main meals are a
welcome addition. "What's to Eat?" oozes with the author's pleasure in her
kitchen... If you think you or your child has a food allergy, see a doctor.
If you want an array of culinary ideas, try Coss' book. This 'user friendly' book will be a good resource for you and your
clients. Families facing the challenge of watching what they eat while still
seeking mouth-watering alternatives will be delighted by the food prepared
using these recipes –
all allergy-free and deceptively delicious! This cookbook is an invaluable resource for the food allergic. Coss developed recipes that will work for the whole family. This book is fantastic! It's one of the best food allergy cookbooks
I've seen. Everyone should have a copy. The recipes are family-style dishes using easy-to-find ingredients. This is a fabulous resource for my food allergic patients! Return to Top..........
